MoneySmart
A guidance and support website from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Australia's corporate, markets, financial services and consumer credit regulator. ASIC is the lead Australian Government agency for financial capability.
MoneySmart includes any resources for all stages of life and topics. It includes calculators and tips to help individuals make better financial decisions. If you only visit one site on money then it should be MoneySmart.
Financial Information Service
A free service that can inform and educate consumers about financial matters. It offers contact with Financial Information Service Officers for general information, but does not offer financial counselling or advice. Supported by the Department of Human Services.
Department of Social Services
The Australian Government, in partnership with community organisations, provides support to vulnerable individuals and families experiencing financial crises. Services included provide crisis support, broad financial capability building services, financial counselling and access to microfinance products. Services are free, voluntary and confidential and are generally delivered by community organisations.
National Debt Hotline
A not-for-profit service to help Australians tackle debt problems that offers free and confidential advice from professional financial counsellors. Telephone advice, supported by face to face counselling for more complex matters. Operated by Financial Counselling Australia.
Good Shepherd Microfinance
Offers financially inclusive products, services and advisory through hundreds of providers across Australia including the NILS and StepUp loan schemes. Good Shepherd Microfinance works with corporates, Government, community sector partners, and academics. A very good resource for people in immediate financial difficulty.
GSM also manages the Financial Inclusion Action Plan (FIAP) program.
Money Minded
An adult financial education program which helps people looking to create a budget, reduce debt, and increase savings. Utilised by hundreds of thousands of people to-date, this resource is supported by ANZ. MoneyMinded facilitator training and materials are available from ANZ, and the program is also used within the Saver Plus matched savings program.
Centsable
A website that supports community workers to have informed conversations with women to identify issues and challenges that reduce their capacity to manage their money well. Operated by Women’s Health Goulburn North East.

Resources for women about relationships and money, and financial abuse.

The ATO offers free workshops and webinars on a variety of tax topics for small business.

An online resource dedicated to helping Australians improve their financial wellbeing. Operated by the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Australia.
SuperGuru
A website providing independent information to help you better engage with and grow your superannuation. Operated by the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA), the peak body for Australia’s superannuation industry.
Understand Insurance
A website that provides practical information to help you find out more about insurance and make decisions that meet your needs. Operated by the Insurance Council of Australia, the peak body for the general insurance industry.
